Dark Psychology

The Mechanics of Manipulation and Control.

The Manipulator's Playbook

Triangulation

A manipulator brings a third person into the dynamic to create jealousy or insecurity. This forces you to "compete" for their approval and keeps you off-balance.

The Smear Campaign

When a predator loses control over you, they start controlling how others see you. They spread rumors or "concerns" to isolate you from your pack or support network.

Word Salad

Circular, repetitive, and nonsensical conversations designed to confuse and exhaust you. The goal is to make you give up on the argument just to make it stop.

Moving the Goalposts

Once you meet a standard or requirement they set, they change it. This ensures you are constantly seeking their validation but can never actually achieve it.

The Psychological Grooming Process

Predators don't start with abuse. They start with **conditioning**. This process is designed to lower your defenses over time.

1. Selection Targeting someone who is empathetic, new, or isolated.
2. Trust Building rapid, intense intimacy (Love Bombing).
3. Isolation Cutting ties with friends or family who might spot the red flags.
4. Control Switching from affection to threats or emotional coldness.

A Note on "Dark Tetrad" Personalities

Dark Psychology isn't just about bad behavior—it's a toolset used by those with Dark Tetrad traits: Narcissism, Machiavellianism, Psychopathy, and Sadism. These individuals do not see you as a person, but as an asset to be managed.
