The Predator's Mirror

Comprehensive Guide to Narcissistic Abuse

The Narcissist's Toolkit

The Smear Campaign

When they can no longer control you, they control how others see you. They will spread lies to your pack or friends to isolate you before you even realize you're being abused.

Identity Erosion

They slowly chip away at your hobbies, style, and opinions until you are merely a reflection of what they want you to be. In D/s, this is often disguised as "training."

The Cycle of Control

1
Idealization

The "Love Bomb." You are perfect, and they are your soulmate.

2
Devaluation

The mask slips. They become cold, critical, and cruel.

3
Discard or Hoover

They leave you—or "hoover" you back in to start the cycle again.

The Dark Triad

True predators often exhibit a mix of three dangerous traits. Recognizing these is key to spotting a "high-conflict" individual early.

  • Narcissism: Grandiosity, pride, and a total lack of empathy.
  • Machiavellianism: Manipulation and exploitation of others for personal gain.
  • Psychopathy: Remorselessness and antisocial behavior.

Survival & Recovery

The "Grey Rock" Method

If you cannot leave yet, become as boring as a grey rock. Give short, non-committal answers. Starve them of the emotional reaction they crave.

Establish "Hard" Boundaries

Narcissists hate boundaries. Setting one and sticking to it is the fastest way to make a predator lose interest in you.

You Are Not Alone.
